Meet Dr. O’Neal

Medical Director

Dr. Sarita O’Neal is double-board certified in general psychiatry and child and adolescent psychiatry. A native of North Carolina, Dr. O’Neal earned her Bachelor of Science in Chemistry and Minor in Spanish from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2003. She earned her Medical Degree from the Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University in 2011 in Greenville, NC. Dr. O’Neal completed her medical residency in psychiatry at East Carolina University and Vidant Medical Center from 2011-2014. She received additional training by completing a fellowship in child and adolescent psychiatry from 2014-2016.

Dr. O’Neal enjoys practicing both inpatient and outpatient care and working with patients of all ages. Fields of interest include depression, bipolar disorder, anxiety disorders, psychotic disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorder, attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder, trauma/abuse-related disorders, and autism. Dr. O’Neal provides medication management and psychotherapy via telepsychiatry (video), in-office sessions, and home-visits. She is committed to providing psychoeducation to her patients and their families by sharing knowledge on ways to cope and thrive in spite of a mental health condition. Dr. O’Neal also enjoys traveling, reading trivia, and spending time with family and friends.
